My working approach
Systemic, context-oriented, and solution-focused
My therapeutic work draws on the systemic approach developed at the Mental Research Institute (brief therapy, often referred to as the “Palo Alto model”). The focus is not on isolated symptoms or their causes, but on understanding which emotions, thoughts, and behaviours are currently experienced as challenging within a person’s life or work context.
Together we explore:
- how patterns and interactions influence each other
- how new perspectives and possibilities for action can emerge
- how existing resources can be activated and personal agency strengthened
Therapy is not about having to understand or change everything immediately. Sometimes, simply having space to speak openly and sort through thoughts and feelings is a good start.
You remain the expert in your own life throughout the process and an active, self-directed participant in therapy.
